I know this is an old topic, but I just saw it and thought I would respond anyway.

My longstanding favorite is the Gundam Seed/Destiny anime. I know it's old, but so am I. Smile

Why do I like it? Well it has just about everything I like in a story. A strong good plot, good character development, fighting/conflict, sci-fi or fantasy powers or abilities, romance, tragedy, a good ending etc... nuff said.

Ranking under that would be Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gungrave, Fullmetal Alchemist, Code Geass, Getbackers, Great Teacher Onizuka, Death Note, Chrno Crusade, Scryed, Samurai Champloo, One Piece, Bleach. I have other favorites but those are the top ones I can remember right now.

Bleach is at the end for me because I really like parts of it, but I think there are waaaay too many fillers. I think Naruto was even worse.

The most God forsaken anime I saw was Guin Saga. Complete disaster. It has some good music though. I didn't really like Beck, Claymore, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Utawarerumono and I think there are others but they must have been so bad I forgot about them...Haha.

Even though I didn't really care for the story of Mobile Suit Gundam 00, it has some really great music. I recommend you check it out.
